Reader ratings and club submissions

We save the rating you choose and a random browser identifier in our database. An essential cookie remembers that identifier for up to one year so you can update or remove your rating. Clearing cookies or changing devices creates a different identifier. Ratings are anonymous community opinions and are not verified purchase reviews.

A club reading submission includes the club name, official link, your name and email, the book and the date. The club name and link appear immediately with an awaiting-review label. Halcyon may confirm or hide the claim. Your name and email are used privately to confirm the submission and are included in an internal notification to Halcyon. A submission does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

We use short-lived hashed request identifiers to limit repeated submissions and remove those counters after a day. Club submissions and ratings are retained until they are removed or no longer needed. You can remove a rating from its book page using the same browser. For corrections, removal of a club reading or questions about your data, email hello@halcyonliterary.com.
